The Coupar Angus Regeneration Trust (CART)is a working community regeneration organisation which was constituted in 1999 though informal meetings had taken place since 1997.

The purposes of the Trust are for the regeneration of urban and rural areas in and around Coupar Angus and the nearby villages of Ardler and Bendochy, where there is social and economic deprivation by:

(i) The relief of poverty
(ii) The advancement of education in relation to buildings and areas of particular historic and architectural importance
(iii) The provision of public amenities
(iv) The provision, maintenance and improvement of recreational facilities
(v) The provision, maintenance and improvement of road accessibility to main transport routes
(vi) The provision of financial or technical assistance or advice to new businesses or existing businesses where it would lead to training and employment opportunities for unemployed local people
(vii) The provision of houses for those in need and help to improve housing standards generally in those parts where poor housing is a problem
(viii) The protection or conservation of the environment
(ix) The promotion of public safety and prevention of crime. "

In short, the aim of CART is to make Coupar Angus a better place to live and work.

CART has an office in the town in the old bank building and it is staffed by Graham Young, Project Manager.
