Power to the People

The Trustees of Coupar Angus Regeneration Trust welcomed their new Project Officer, Jill Davies, at their AGM recently. Originally from Blairgowrie, Jill came home after years in Wales where she worked in a similar town regeneration project.

Perth and Kinross Council and European funding through Leader Rural Tayside will enable CART to assist local groups with training and other services to regenerate the town. “Coupar Angus and the surrounding area will benefit from this initiative aimed at revitalising the local community and economy through supporting local people in local groups.” Chairperson Cllr Alan Grant said today. “The community have always been successful in making things happen in the town, a great example being the Horsefair. With this support, the £200,000 Town Centre Regeneration Fund plans and the Townscape Heritage Initiative, Coupar Angus has a brighter future.”
Jill will be based in the Royal Bank Building office but will also be visiting community groups in the area.
